SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Yonhap) -- Tuide, a new girl group from Hybe, the K-pop powerhouse behind global superstars BTS, will make its debut later this month with its first EP, "Tune & Play," the group's agency said Monday.
The septet -- comprising Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah and Yi Hani -- is set to make its official debut on Aug. 24 under ABD, a new label under Hybe.
The group's name is derived from the phrase "Tune the Tide," reflecting its aspiration to harmonize diverse musical influences and create a unified sound, the label said.
The members, born between 2006 and 2011, come from varied cultural backgrounds, including South Korea, the United States, Britain and Japan.

"With their distinct individualities and multinational synergy, they plan to deliver a unique kind of enjoyment to global music fans," the agency said in a statement.
The group is being overseen by Han Sung-soo, a veteran producer known for shaping K-pop acts such as Seventeen, After School, Iz*one and Tws.
The debut album's title, "Tune & Play," encapsulates the group's direction: to harmonize different musical languages into a single rhythm and maximize the joy found within that process, according to ABD.
Ahead of its official debut, Tuide held a preview event on Saturday and Sunday in Seoul, where the group performed all tracks from the upcoming album for selected fans.
