SEOUL, Oct. 1 (Yonhap) -- Actor Koo Kyo-hwan, known for playing a genius villain in the zombie blockbuster "Colony," has been married to filmmaker Yi Ok-seop since 2022, the actor's agency said Thursday.
"Koo and Yi legally registered their marriage in 2022 and tied the knot as husband and wife," Namoo Actors said.
"The two have stayed by each other's side as closest companion and family... and will continue to strive to bring good works in their respective careers," it added.
Koo and Yi, who both graduated from the Seoul Institute of the Arts, began their romantic relationship while filming Yi's short film in 2013.
The couple has collaborated on a number of features and shorts, including "Leave a Message After Beep" (2018) and "Maggie" (2019). They acknowledged their romantic relationship in 2020.
Koo, who debuted in 2008, has appeared in hit TV series and films, such as "Peninsula" (2020), "Once We Were Us" (2025) and the first and second seasons of "D.P." His latest film "Reawaken Man: the Red," hit theaters Wednesday.
Yi, who has mostly worked on short films, is currently working on her second feature film starring Lee Na-young.
