SEOUL, Oct. 11 (Yonhap) -- Yonhap News Agency, South Korea's key newswire service, will co-host a special exhibition showcasing ancient Egyptian mummies and artifacts starting in December, officials said Sunday.
The exhibition, titled "Unraveling the Mysteries of Ancient Egypt," will feature some 150 artifacts from the Brooklyn Museum's ancient Egyptian art collection, including mummies, sculptures and jewelry.
The event, co-hosted by Yonhap, the Brooklyn Museum, local newspaper Donga Ilbo and broadcaster Channel A, will run from Dec. 11 through April 11 next year at the Seoul Arts Center in southern Seoul.
The exhibition will feature the mummy and cartonnage of an ancient Egyptian priest named Hor, dating from around 760 to 558 B.C., and a mummified cat associated with the Egyptian goddess Bastet, as well as other artifacts that will offer a glimpse into ancient Egyptian life.
It will be the first exhibition in four years to display Egyptian mummies in South Korea.
