SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group Babymonster will release a new digital single, titled "Deserve," on Oct. 23, its label YG Entertainment said Wednesday, as the agency also announced a comeback plan by its boy group TREASURE.

The upcoming single marks the group's first new music in about four months, following "Sugar Honey Ice Tea" in June.

In a post on the company's official blog, YG chief producer Yang Hyun-suk described the track as a slower song with stronger energy than the group's previous releases.

The seven-member group is currently on its second world tour, "Choom," which comprises 31 shows in 18 cities. YG said Babymonster is also preparing to release a new album early next year.

TREASURE will return on Nov. 2 with the digital single "Shock," which YG said features a powerful hip-hop sound.

Yang said the release marks a major shift in the group's musical direction and the start of its "second chapter," with activities set to continue into 2027.

YG also said it is preparing to launch a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group. The two acts will record demo songs by the end of this year, with their debut schedules to be set once the lead tracks for their first releases are chosen.
