김의환 주뉴욕총영사는 2025년 6월 3일, 뉴욕 맨해튼 할렘 지역에 위치한 Democracy Prep Harlem High School 을 방문하여 재학생들의 과학 실험 수업을 참관했다.
이날 수업은 한국의 나노기술 기업인 (주)마라나노텍 (대표 이혜연)이 교보재를 후원함으로써 이루어졌으며, 김 총영사는 수업 시작에 앞서 인사말을 통해 학생들을 격려하고, 이들의 과학적 호기심과 탐구 정신을 지지하며 한인 사회와의 지속적인 교류와 지원을 약속했다.
이번 방문은 한미 간 교육 협력과 과학 분야 교류를 강화하는 뜻깊은 계기가 되었으며, 뉴욕 지역 청소년들과 한국 기관 및 기업 간의 연결을 확대하는 계기를 마련했다.
Consul General Eui-hwan Kim of the Republic of Korea visited Democracy Prep Harlem High School in Harlem, Manhattan, on June 3, 2025, to observe a student-led science experiment class.
The class was made possible through the donation of educational materials by Marana Nanotech , a Korean nanotechnology company led by CEO Hye-Yeon Lee. Prior to the class, Consul General Kim delivered a welcoming message, encouraging the students and expressing his commitment to continued engagement and support for the youth and education sector.
This visit served as a meaningful occasion to promote educational and scientific exchange between Korea and the United States, particularly strengthening connections between local students and Korean organizations.
